Southern Maine quickly took control scoring the first 10 points of the second half.  Junior forward Haley Jordan (Falmouth, Maine) scored the first bucket of the second stanza on a driving layup, and Garland drained a three after steal from senior guard Renee Nicholas (Sebago, Maine/Lake Region) and an assist from Jordan.  Cochran completed a feed from Nicholas in the paint and Garland capped the run with her sixth three-pointer of the game for a 49-32 USM lead with 17:33 to play.

The Panthers countered with a 7-0 run, including five straight point from Walsh, to trail the Huskies 49-39 with 14:23 to play, but it was as close as Plymouth State would get the rest of the way.  After the PSU push, the Huskies went on a 12-2 run over the next four and a half minutes to lead by 20, 61-41, with 9:58 to play.  Grant scored eight of her 15 points in the run, while Garland added four more.  From there, the Huskies led by as many as 23 points to roll for the 74-52 win.
