Grizzlies rebound from setback, rout host Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. – Franklin College shook off  Wednesday night's upset loss by routing host Anderson 68-43 in a Heartland Conference women's basketball contest at O.C. Lewis Gymmasium this afternoon.

The Grizzlies, ranked 12th in the USA Today/ESPN Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll and rated 14th in the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll this week, improved to 14-2 in the HCAC and 21-2 overall.

Franklin bounced back from its seven-point setback at Rose-Hulman on Wednesday after winning six sraight contests and now remains tied for first place with Hanover, which breezed to a 77-47 home victory over Bluffton today.

The Ravens, who hit 10 of 11 free throws but committed 24 turnovers, fell to 5-11 in the conference and 8-15.

FC was led by senior guard Sarah Condra (Nineveh, Ind./Whiteland Community), who tallied 16 points. Sophomore forward Krista Schott (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) scored eight points and had five rebounds.

Contributing from the bench were senior guard Courtney Pedersen (Greenwood, Ind./Roncalli), senior guard Monica Schwab (Martinsville, Ind./H.S.) and sophomore forward Krista Beaman (Milroy, Ind./Rushville Consolidated), who netted seven points each.

The Lady Griz hit 26 of 52 total field goal attempts, including five of 10 shots from 3-point range, for 50 percent to Anderson's 38.1 percent.

Anderson was led by Hannah Wickard and Amy Wuestefeld, who tallied 12 points each.
