ATLANTA -- One of four Maroons to finish in double figures, Meghan Herrick scored her 1,000th career point as the second-ranked University of Chicago women's basketball team defeated host Emory University 79-55 in University Athletic Association play Friday evening.
With the victory, Chicago (19-0 overall, 8-0 UAA) extended the longest regular season winning streak in the NCAA Division III to 37 games and remained one of five undefeated teams in Division III.

- With a jumper at the 2:13 mark of the first half, Herrick became the 11th player in Chicago women's basketball history -- and the second in as many games -- to reach the 1,000 career point plateau. Bryanne Halfhill accomplished the feat last Sunday against the University of Rochester.
- Herrick finished the night with 10 points and six assists. Halfhill handed out seven assists.
- Taylor Simpson led all scorers with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor.
- Hannah Ballard had 16 points and 11 rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench for her second double-double of the year.
- Morgan Herrick tallied 17 points in 17 minutes. She connected on eight of 12 field goal tries.
- Danielle Landy paced the Eagles with 12 points, while Becca Feldman added 11.
- The Maroons outshot Emory 49% to 35% and held a 53-33 rebounding advantage.
Notes
- Chicago won its 10th straight game over Emory and its eighth in a row in Atlanta.
- The Maroons extended their UAA winning streak to 22 games. Chicago has won 28 of 29 conference affairs dating back to Feb. 5, 2010.
- Chicago won for the 48th straight occasion and 88th time in its last 90 games when leading at halftime.
- Chicago improved to 19-1 in games in which sisters Meghan and Morgan Herrick both netted double digits.
- The Maroons held the opposition below 40% shooting from the field (34.7%) for the 15th time in 19 outings this season.
- Chicago raised its record to 19-0 for the 1st time in its 41-year history. The Maroons started 16-0 in 2006-07.
