RADNOR, Pa. - The Rosemont College women's basketball team took an 8-0 lead over the host Cabrini Cavaliers with 1:15 into the game, and the Ravens would extend their lead to 18-8 before the Cavaliers mounted a comeback to get to within one point at halftime. The Ravens were dominated in the second half, oubscored 37-21, ultimately falling to the Cavaliers by a final score of 62-47. The loss moved the Raven's record to 8-11 (4-9 CSAC). The Cavaliers improved to 8-13 (6-6 CSAC) with the victory.

Rosemont still seemed to have control of the game after 16 minutes were played, but the Cabrini defense stopped the Ravens' scoring from the field for the last four minutes of the first half and the first 1:25 of the second. The second half opened with a Cavalier field goal, providing the home side with their first lead of the night, 27-26. Over the next eight minutes the Ravens would be outscored 18-4 to take a 15-point lead from which the Ravens would not manage a comeback.

Part of the Raven's success in the first half was that they shot 6-for9 from the charity stripe in the first half, but only had one opportunity from the stripe in the second half while Cabrini was awarded with 13 free throw attempts in the final period.

The Cavaliers also shot a hot 54.2% from the field in the second half, 47.1% for the game compared to Rosemont's 34% from the field.

Rosemont had the two top scorers in the contest with Ashley Montecchio (Jr./Sun Valley/Aston, Pa.) and Liz Coyne (Fr./Downingtown West/West Chester, Pa.) each scoring 16. Coyne's 10 rebounds earned her eighth double-double of the season. Vanessa Johnson (Sr./GW Carver/Philadelphia) led all players with 11 rebounds.

The Cavaliers placed Brittany Sandone (13) and Megan Decker (11) in double-figures.

Rosemont returns home for a non-conference game on Saturday, 2/4 as they host the Bryn Mawr Owls at 1:00pm.
