SWARTHMORE, Pa – Franklin & Marshall went on a 14-0 run in the first five minutes of the second half to lead the Diplomats to an 85-70 road win over Swarthmore (4-7, 2-5) Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball action. F&M improved to 9-3 (6-1 CC) while the Garnet fell to 4-7 (2-5 CC).

After trailing for a good portion of the first half, the Diplomats chipped away at the seven-point Garnet lead. F&M pulled within one point with 41 seconds left in the period off of an Emma Lisle layup, before Eliza Polli made it a three-point lead for the Garnet with a pair of made free throws. Allison Bauer hit one of two from the line to pull the Diplomats within two points, 32-34, to close out the first half.

Kristina McCarthy started the Diplomats' 14-0 run netting seven points to give F&M a 39-34 lead just two minutes into the second half. Swarthmore did not score until the 14:53 mark when Genny Pezzola hit a three-pointer to bring the Garnet within nine. That was the closest Swarthmore would come as F&M pulled away and led by as many as 22 points and never trailed through the remainder of the half.

McCarthy tallied a team-high 18 points while five other Diplomats reached double figures. Bauer registered 16 points with two three-pointers. Lisle had 11 points while Elizabeth Snyder, Megan Pauley and Alexa Barbush all added 10 a piece.

Swarthmore's Katie Lytle scored a game-high 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Pezzola also added 12 for the Garnet.

The Diplomats return to the court on Tuesday when F&M travels to Ursinus for a 7 p.m. tip off.
