Providence, R.I.-Senior guard Cynthia Gaudet (Coventry, RI) finished with 17 points, six steals, four rebounds and three assists, while junior forward Courtney Burns (Rockland, MA) added 10 points and six rebounds of her own, as the Rhode Island College women's basketball team cruised past the Plymouth State Panthers, 73-44, on Saturday in Little East Conference play at The Murray Center.

Senior forward Rachel Riley (Coventry, RI) added 10 points and 12 boards for RIC (14-2, 7-0 LEC). With the win, the Anchorwomen remain in sole possession of first place in the Little East Conference standings.

It was the 11^th straight win for the hosts, who have won five of their last six games by 20 or more points. The Anchorwomen have recorded double-digit victories in nine straight as well.

RIC held Plymouth State (2-13, 0-7 LEC) to just 25 percent shooting from the floor, while forcing 29 turnovers in the rout of the Panthers. The Anchorwomen also held a definitive edge on the glass, as they outrebounded PSU, 65-44, and tallied 29 offensive rebounds as a team. RIC also dished out 22 assists on 30 buckets, while 11 different players got on the scoreboard for the hosts.

Plymouth State jumped out to an early lead after junior guard Kellie Walsh (Londonderry, NH) tallied the first basket of the game in the opening minutes, but the Anchorwomen responded with 20 unanswered points over the next eight minutes to take a 20-2 lead with 11:57 left to play, led by eight points from senior guard Stephanie Coro (North Providence, RI) during that span. Coro finished the game with nine points and eight rebounds.

Sophomore forward Meghan Faretra (Bow, NH) finally halted the drought with 11:25 remaining in the half to make it, 20-5. However, PSU was outscored, 24-10, through the rest of the frame, and went into the intermission trailing, 44-15. The Panthers were held without a field goal for the final six minutes of the half.

Senior guard Michaela Galvin (Windham, NH) led PSU with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Walsh chipped in with nine points. Faretra notched five points and six rebounds, while junior guard Kaylee Towle (Dover, NH) totaled six points off the bench.

Rhode Island College received some great contributions from its bench, highlighted by sophomore forward Alexia Vega (North Providence, RI), who finished with six points and six rebounds. Junior guard Ashley O'Dell (Lincoln, RI) added six points, five assists and four boards, while senior guard Nicole Girard (Foster, RI) posted three points, four assists and five rebounds.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East Conference play at Western Connecticut on Tuesday, Jan. 24 (5:30 p.m.).
