The No. 24-ranked St. Thomas women's basketball team ran its winning streak to 15 with Saturday's 56-49 win at St. Mary's.
The first-place Tommies (15-1 overall, 13-0 MIAC) broke to a 25-9 halftime lead then held off a late Cardinal charge. A 15-2 run late in the first-half put the Toms in control.
Sarah Smith had 11 points and eight rebounds; Taylor Young and Kelly Brandenburg each scored 10 points; and Maggie Weiers had 10 rebounds.
The Tommies maintained a one-game lead over Gustavus, which won Saturday at Bethel.
St. Thomas plays Wednesday at Hamline.
