Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's women's basketball team opened the second half of Capital Athletic Conference place with a 63-50 loss to visiting York (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon.  The Saints drop to 7-11 overall and 4-5 in league play.

Katelyn Fischer led the Saints with 14 points while Carolyn Hildreth added 11 off the bench.  Fischer added six assists, five rebounds and five steals on the day.

On the glass, Jackie Bohenek led MU with 10 rebounds while Tynisha Parks added five.

In a tale of two halves, both squads nearly mirrored each other in opposite frames.  Slow to start the game, Marymount battled from a 26 point halftime deficit to outscore the Spartans 36-23 in the second half.  The Saints held YCP (14-3, 8-1 CAC) to a paltry 19.2 percent shooting in the stanza but it wasn't enough to pull off the comeback victory.

Kristen Haley paced the Spartans with a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.  She added seven blocks in the win.  Kelsey Murphy led YCP in scoring with 16 points while April Sparkman added 12.

Marymount returns to the hardwood on Wednesday as it travels to face archrival Mary Washington in CAC action.
