SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team closed the game on a 19-8 run over the final 8:13 on its way to a 52-44 win over St. Mary's (Md.) College in Capital Athletic Conference action at Maggs Physical Activities Center on Wednesday.

SU (8-7, 6-2 CAC) erased a five-point SMC (6-11, 4-4) lead and snapped a two-game losing streak in the process.

Freshman Anna Hackett scored a game-high 16 points on 6-for-13 shooting from the field and 4-for-5 from the free-throw line and senior Katie McGahagan chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Senior Meghan Dunn got the comeback started with a jumper to cut the Seahawks' advantage to 38-35 and Hackett added a layup on the next possession. Junior Cinthia Ruiz picked the pocket of SMC's Matti Vagnoni and fed Hackett for another layup and a 39-38 lead with 6:24 remaining.

Junior Nicole Sisco followed with a steal of her own and found senior Milan Dry on the break to push the Sea Gulls' lead to 41-38 at the 6:05 mark before Sisco converted a three-point play to make it a 44-38 game with 5:23 left.

St. Mary's received a layup from Shana Lewis with 1:42 to play, making it 48-44, but got no closer.

Dry finished with nine points, eight rebounds and five assists for Salisbury. Jasmine Jones scored 11 points to pace St. Mary's while Myeisha Wallace pulled down a game-best 10 rebounds.

The first half was tight, featuring five ties and eight lead changes with neither holding a lead larger than four points. Jones knocked down a jumper with 18 seconds left in the half to give the Seahawks a 27-25 edge going into the break.

SU hosts Trinity (D.C.) College on Monday to wrap up its non-conference slate.
