Megan Robertson scored 12 points to lead nationally ranked No. 1 Amherst College to a 78-25 win against Hamilton College in a NESCAC game at Amherst's LeFrak Gymnasium on Jan. 13.
Robertson came off the bench and shot 6 of 7 from the field for the defending NCAA Division III champions. Caroline Stedman, Lem Atanga McCormick and Jasmine Hardy chipped in 11 points each. Uju Momah grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. Bridget Crowley contributed nine points, six boards and three steals in 14 minutes.
Eliza Howe '13 scored six points for Hamilton. Kim Goidell '13 added five points and Olivia Pimm '14 pulled in four rebounds.
The Jeffs (14-0 overall, 3-0 NESCAC) opened the first half with a 7-0 run and led the entire game. The first double-digit lead was 13-3 with 14:53 left in the half, and Amherst enjoyed a 26-5 cushion with 10:53 remaining. The Jeffs led 43-11 at the half, and scored the first 10 points after the break for a 42-point advantage.
Amherst's defense came up with 14 steals and blocked 10 shots. The Jeffs shot 50.8 percent from the floor, including 63.6 percent in the second half, and held a 52-21 rebounding advantage.
The Continentals (5-8, 0-3) shot just 13.5 percent from the field. Hamilton dropped its fourth straight game.
The Continentals travel to Trinity College for another NESCAC game on Sunday, Jan. 15.
