The Bethany College women's basketball team regained their hot hand Wednesday night as they convincingly defeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Thiel 76-63 to take their conference record over .500.
The Bison, now 8-6 and 4-3 in the PAC, played through some tip-off jitters during the first six minutes of the half, but with 14:05 to play, junior Kayla Taormina made a smooth layup to give Bethany the 10-8 advantage, and they didn't look back from there.
While shooting 47% from the floor in the first half, Bethany went into the locker room with a 40-29 lead. The rest of the game remained the same as the Green & White kept a double-digit lead over Thiel (2-12, 2-5 PAC) and scored over 70 points for the seventh time this season.

This strong offense by the Bison continues to be more than just a one-person show. Senior forward Katelynn Hackathorn scored 14 points with five boards, while junior guard Kayla Taormina tied her for the team high with an additional 14 points. The Bison's strong depth also played a major role in the win as they accumulated 26 bench points, compared to Thiel's nine, a trend seen in nearly all of Bethany's wins.
Additionally, while tallying 12 points over the Tomcats, senior guard Anne Wilson reached her 900th career-point mark, currently totaling 902.
Leading Thiel in the defeat was Kelly Muffley withy 19 points and 12 rebounds and Kelly Barzak with 17 markers.
The Green & White now must go on the road to face another PAC team, the Westminster Titans (3-10, 3-4 PAC). The Titans are coming off of a convincing 57-38 win over the Chatham Cougars Wednesday night. Tip-off between the Bison and Westminster is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday in Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.
