PLU No Match for Division II Seattle Pacific

SEATTLE - Seattle Pacific had its way with Pacific Lutheran on Monday night, rolling to an easy 96-46 victory in a non-conference women's basketball game played at Brougham Pavilion.

The NCAA Division II Falcons, 7-3 this season, shot 50 percent from the field (40-for-80) and also had a 57-34 rebounding advantage against the Division III Lutes. Betsy Kingma led five SPU players in double figures with 14 points, and 11 of the 12 players to see action ended up in the scoring column.

Joani Reimer played a game-high 22 minutes and scored 13 for the Falcons. Guard Nyesha Sim had a double-double for the winners with 11 points and 10 rebounds in 19 minutes of action.

In falling to 4-5 for the season, the Lutes shot just 29 percent from the field (20-for-68), including 20 percent (3-for-15) from beyond the three-point line. Samantha Potter was the only PLU player to score in double figures, finishing with 16 points to go along with a team-best seven rebounds.
