RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Jaleesa Gordon's 20 points led four players in double figures and Amanda De La Cruz racked up 17 points and 15 assists as the Lehman women's basketball team broke a three game losing streak on Tuesday night by defeating host College of Mount Saint Vincent 81-58.

Gordon also added a season-high six blocked shots and pulled down six rebounds while shooting 10-of-14 from the field.  Joining the Lehman tandem in double digits were Leslie Mencia, who scored 18 points on 7-of-20 shooting, and Paula Robinson, who finished with 14 points on an efficient 7-for-9 from the floor.  Overall, the Lightning shot a season-best 48 percent.

Mount Saint Vincent was led by 13 points from senior Ashley Ruiz.

The final score of Tuesday's game overshadowed an extremely close first half that ended with the Lightning leading by only a single point, 32-31.  Mount Saint Vincent continued to hang around for much of the second half as well.  With 9:26 remaining the Dolphins found themselves down only four, 53-49, after Ruiz connected on a three-pointer.

However, starting with a bucket by Gordon the Lightning proceeded to rattle off a 24-4 run over the next seven minutes that blew the game open and left Lehman comfortably ahead 77-53 with just 2:28 to go.  During the game-deciding stretch Gordon tallied eight points, De La Cruz and Robinson each added four, Mencia buried two three-pointers, and Alicia McDaniel added a bucket.

The victory helps Lehman creep closer to the .500 mark as it improves to 5-6 overall.

Lehman will have two weeks to savor the win with the team not returning to action until December 28 against SUNY Old Westbury.
