#5 Rochester Improves to 10-0 with Win at RIT

HENRIETTA, N.Y. - Rochester scored the first nine points of the game and went on to a 79-45 victory over Rochester Institute of Technology at Clark Gymnasium on Tuesday night.

The win boosted the Yellowjacket record to 10-0 in the first half of the season. RIT is 3-5. Rochester is ranked fifth nationally.

Laney Ming scored 10 of her team high 13 points in the first half. Rochester shot 55% from the field in the first 20 minutes and led, 49-20 at intermission Jackie Walker scored 10 points. Kristyn Wright and Jodie Luther scored eight points apiece as did Danielle McNabb.

Kayla Wheeler scored 13 points for RIT and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. Leslie Havens scored 12 points.

Rochester held a 48-34 advantage on the boards. Madeline Korber, Katie Weiner, and Loren Wagner had five boards apiece. The Yellowjackets had 19 assists on 33 baskets. McNabb and Ally Zywicki had four each.

The Yellowjackets hit five of seven outside the arc in the first half. Ming had two treys in the first half, three for the game. Kelly Scull, Walker, and Zywicki also hit outside the arc. Rochester was 0-8 from long range in Saturday's win over William Smith.
