LADY COUGARS FALL TO OLD WESTBURY 94-39

Brooklyn, NY- The Lady Cougars fell to Old Westbury Panthers 94-39 on Wednesday Nov.30, 2011 at MEC Cougars Cave. The Panthers improved to 1-3 while the Lady Cougars are now 0-6.

The Panthers opened the game with a 10-0 run that spanned 4 minutes. The would lead by as much as 27pts and never let go of the lead. MEC shot in the 1st half 21.9% from the field, 25% from 3pt. range, and 61.5% from the free throw line (8-13). Old Westbury shot 45.5% from the field, 62.5% from 3pt. range (5-8) and 40% from the free throw line (2-5). Tiffany Woodbine led the Lady Cougars in the half. Woodbine tallied 11pts and grabbed 3 rebounds, tallied a block and 4 steals. The Panthers were led by Clarissa Gallagher with 20pts.

The 2nd half was all Old Westbury. There biggest lead was 54pts. MEC shot 20% from the field and 33.3% from the free throw line. Old Westbury shot 62.5% from the field, 50% from 3pt. range, and 66.7% from the free throw line. The Lady Cougars were led in the half by Chantal Biscette with 6pts. LeeOndrea Lee led the Panthers with 10pts. 

For the game, MEC was led by Freshman Guard Tiffany Woodbine led the Lady Cougars with 13pts. She grabbed 4 rebounds, tallied an assist, a block and 5 steals. Chantal Biscette followed with 12pts and 11 rebounds, and Yvanna Jack with 10pts and 14 rebounds.

Old Westbury was led by Clarissa Gallagher with 22pts, DaAndre Scott with 17pts and LeeOndrea Lee with 10pts.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Saturday Dec.3, 2011 when take part in the 13th Annual Dr. Betty Shabazz Tournament. MEC will play College of New Rochelle Blue Angels at 6pm. The 8pm game will feature the Yeshiva Maccabees and Berkeley College (NY) Knights.
