WOODBINE, JACK, AND BISCETTE NOT ENOUGH FOR PSU-BERKS

Mahwah, NJ- The Lady Cougars lost in the Roadrunners Tip-Off Tournament consolation match vs Penn State-Berks Lady Nittany Lions 64-38 on Saturday Nov.19, 2011 at Ramapo College. The Lady Nittany Lions improved to 1-2 while the Lady Cougars fell to 0-4.

PSU-Berks led from the opening tip. They led by as much as 14pts while MEC was closest at 10-7 with 13:26 in the 1st half. PSU-Berks was making their shots, either from the field, 3pt. range, or the free throw line. In the 1st half, MEC was led by Senior Yvanna Jack who poured in 9pts and grabbed 15 rebounds. Freshman Tiffany Woodbine tallied 8pts and Senior Chantal Biscette scored 6pts. They were the only ones who scored in the half.

MEC in the half shot 29% from the field (9-31 FG), and 38.5% from the free throw line (5-13 FT/FTA). PSU-Berks shot 33.3% from the field (13-39 FG), 57.1% from 3pt. range (4-7 3pt. range), and 50% from the free throw line (1-2 FT/FTA).

The 2nd half was once again all PSU-Berks. They led wire to wire and by as much as 28pts. MEC was led by Freshman Tiffany Woodbine in the 2nd half with 7pts. She also grabbed 7 rebounds. Seniors Chantal Biscette scored 5pts and grabbing 8 rebounds, and Yvanna Jack tallied 3pts and grabbed 7 rebounds. 

MEC in the half shot 13.2% from the field (5-38 FG), 9.1% from 3pt. range (1-11 3pt. range) and 36.4% from the free throw line (4-11 FT/FTA). PSU-Berks shot 33.3% from the field (12-36 FG), 28.6% from 3pt. range (2-7 3pt. range), and 53.8% from the free throw line (7-13 FT/FTA).

For the game MEC's Woodbine tallied 15pts, grabbed 12 rebounds and was credited with 4 steals. Yvanna Jack scored 12pts, grabbed 22 rebounds (match high), and tallied a steal. Chantal Biscette scored 11pts, grabbed 14 rebounds, tallied 2 assists and a block. PSU-Berks was led by Shakiyla Stone with 15pts and Kellie Wilson with 11pts.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday Nov.22, 2011 when they play at New Jersey City University at NJCU. Game time is set for 6pm.
