ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Rosemont College women's basketball team opened up their game against the host Cedar Crest College Falcons with a 17-2 run and the Ravens were never seriously threatened after that as Rosemont cruised to a 72-55 victory. The win was the second straight for the Ravens, evened up the team's overall record at 4-4 and represented their first CSAC win of the season (1-3 CSAC). The Falcons dropped to 1-6 (0-4 CSAC) with the loss.

After Rosemont's original salvo the Falcons could get no closer than narrowing the margin to seven points, 30-23 with 3:08 left in the first half. The Ravens outscored the Falcons 12-9 to end the first half ahead 42-29.

The Ravens managed to hold the Falcons at bay in the second period, with the host team getting no closer than 10 points from the Ravens, and that was in the very early stages of the half.

The Ravens shot 42.9% from the field and cut down their turnovers to 14 against the Falcons' 17 turnovers. Rosemont controlled the boards, outrebounding Cedar Crest by a 51-39 count.

Coyne earned her third double-double of the year as she reeled in 12 rebounds. A double-double was also turned in by senior Vanessa Johnson (G.W. Carver/Philadelphia) with 10 points and 16 boards. It was Johnson's first double-double of the season. Junior Ashley Montecchio (Sun Valley/Aston, Pa.) added 11 points and first year Alex Gravinese (Audubon/Audubon, NJ) chipped in 12 points for the Ravens.

Four Falcons also finished in double-figures (Amber Wehly-12, Mattie Hallquist-12, DeJanet Lantion-11, Denyell Spingola-10). Hallquist led the Falcons with seven boards.

The Ravens complete their 2011 calendar year with a non-conference game at Arcadia University on Friday, 12/16 in a doubleheader with the Ravens men's team. The women's game will tip-off at 6:00pm.
