Alise Holst's (Plainview, MN, Plainview-Elgin-Millville) layup as time was about to expire gave the women's basketball team a 61-60 victory at Concordia University of Wisconsin Tuesday night.

UWRF came back in thriller fashion after trailing by nine points with just under four minutes to play.  Concordia lead by seven with two minutes remaining.

But a stingy Falcon defense and execution in the clutch gave UWRF not only the victory, but a 4-0 record heading into the break.

Tiffany Gregorich (Altoona, WI, Altoona) would finish the game leading UWRF with 20 points.  She also added five rebounds for a complete performance. Her sister, Brittany Gregorich (Altoona, WI, Altoona), would also have a solid game by pouring in 11 points, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out four assists.

The Falcons cleaned up the glass by outrebounding Concordia 37-24.  Maranda Dohrn (Lake City, MN, Lake City), UWRF's top rebounder thus far, finished with 11 on the night, which was more than double what any Concordia player had. She also had eight points and two blocks for UWRF.

The Falcons were able to come out with a victory even though they only attempted six free-throw shots.  They made three of them.  Concordia was 11-15 from the line.

UWRF was sharp from the field goal range.  They were 27-56 for 48.2 percent. The Falcon defense limited the Concordia Falcons to 42.6 percent or 23-54.

With the victory, the UWRF Falcons improve to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 all-time against Concordia.

UWRF returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 30 when they host the College of St. Scholastica at 7 p.m. at the Karges Center.

Concordia falls to 0-2 on the season.
