AMHERST, MASS. – The freshman-senior guard combination of Aliah Curry (Windsor, Mass.) and Karissa Doyon (Beecher Falls, Vt.) both ended in double figures for Norwich University during a 66-52 loss to Mt. Saint Mary College of New York Nov. 20.
Curry topped Coach Mark Zacher's squad with 17 points, four three-pointers and a perfect five-for-five day at the charity stripe. Doyon ended with 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
NU (0-4) trailed 31-19 at halftime and tried to battle back against MSM (2-1). However, the Knights managed to stave off each charge and built their advantage to as much as 20 in the second stanza.
The Cadets, closing their pre-Thanksgiving schedule at the Amherst (Mass.) Tip-Off Tournament, return to the court for an in-state clash with St. Joseph's College of Vermont Tuesday, Nov. 29. Tip-off against the Lady Saints, inside SJC's Athletic Complex in Rutland, Vt., is set for 6 p.m.
