Sami Schoeder scores 28 points, but Stout falls to Lakeland College

SHEBOYGAN (November 19, 2011) - Sami Schoeder (So, Durand) scored 19 points in the second half to push Stout into a lead, but eventually Lakeland College put on their own comeback to down the Blue Devils 75-67 in the consolation game of the Lakeland College tournament Saturday.

Schoeder finished the game with 28 points - her most since last January when she scored 31 points against UW-Platteville - including back-to-back 3-pointers followed by a lay-up that put Stout (1-2) up by four points, 63-59 with 5:52 left in the game.

But the Muskies (1-1) went off on a 7-0 run over the next three mintues and never trailed again.

Schoeder connected on 10-of-22 from the floor, including 5-of-11 3-points and 3-of-4 free throws.

But Schoeder was the only Blue Devil in double digits, compared to four for the Muskies, led by Becky Mayo's 19 points, Jessica Genke's 12 points and 14 rebounds, Taylor Jandrin's 11 points and Aimee Thrune's 10 points.

Lakeland held a 36-27 halftime lead and built the lead to as much as 10 points before Stout jumped into the lead late in the second half.

Stout will be at NCAA Division II St. Cloud State, Tuesday, Nov. 22 before hosting the Quality Inn & Suites Turkey Shootout, Nov. 26-27.
