Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball team moved to 2-0 overall on the season following its 69-46 victory over the Rams of Farmingdale State College in a key regional match-up this evening at the West Quad Center. The Rams fall to 0-1 on the season.

The Bulldogs were led by their frontcourt duo of junior Tiffany Thompson and senior Justine O'Callahan, as both players registered a double-double on the night. Thompson finished with a game-high 16 points to go along with 10 rebounds; while O'Callahan added 13 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

Senior Lauren Plagainos chipped in with 14 points, while going 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. Freshman Nicole Francomano had a solid game dishing out four assists to go with seven points.

For the Rams, Natasha Smalls recorded a team-best 11 points and six rebounds, while Jeanette Zubizarreta added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

After Plagainos opened the game with a three-pointer to put Brooklyn up 3-0, Farmingdale answered with a 6-0 run to take an early 6-3 advantage. The Bulldogs would answer back and eventually take a 9-8 lead following a pair of free-throws from O'Callahan.

Brooklyn would maintain its advantage for the rest of the half and benefit from a 10-0 run to take a 30-19 lead. Plagainos led the charge hitting a pair of three-pointers. The Bulldogs would lead by as many as 12 on two occasions, as BC would head into the halftime break leading 41-32.

BC continued its solid play into the second half, as the Bulldogs opened the second stanza on a 10-0 run to push their advantage to 19, 51-32. Thompson led the run scoring five of the 10 points.

Brooklyn would maintain its double-digit led throughout the rest of the half en route to their 69-46 victory.

The Rams were held to just 25.5% (14-for-55) shooting from the field and just 10.0% (2-for-20) from beyond the arc for the game by the Bulldogs' stingy defense. Farmingdale hit 66.7% (16-for-24) from the free throw line.

Brooklyn shot 41.4% (24-for-58) from the field and 43.8% (7-for-16) from three. The Bulldogs converted on 51.9% (14-for-27) from the charity stripe.

The Bulldogs are right back to action tomorrow, Thursday, November 17th, for their third game in three days, as Brooklyn will travel to New Rochelle, NY to take on the College of New Rochelle. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
