A dominating rebounding performance and Kelsey Myklebust's (Jr. • Wisconsin Dells) career-high 20 points sent UW-Oshkosh to an 81-67 triumph over the UW-Stout women's basketball team on Saturday (Jan. 15) in Kolf Sports Center.

The Titans (9-7/4-3 WIAC) compiled a 41-17 advantage on the boards, including 15 by Shelby Churchill (Sr. • Sheboygan). Myklebust, who entered the game averaging five points, nailed 9-of-14 shots from the field. Laura Ebbens (Sr. • Appleton) dished out eight of UW-Oshkosh's season-best 24 assists.

UW-Stout (6-10/1-6 WIAC) held an 18-14 lead midway through the first half before Katie Kitzke (So. • South Milwaukee) grabbed the momentum with a lay-up and three-pointer. Myklebust followed with consecutive hoops to put the Titans up, 23-18. That cushion expanded to 39-27 when Churchill, Michelle Boeder (Sr. • Oshkosh) and Megan Wenig (So. • Oshkosh) each buried a triple before halftime.

Whitney Rawdon made four free throws early in the second period to pull the Blue Devils within eight (41-33). Kitzke then answered with two connections from three-point range as UW-Oshkosh began to pull away. After a pair of buckets from both Churchill and Myklebust, the Titans led 61-40 with 10:09 remaining.

The margin was at least a dozen points the rest of the way. In a two-minute span, Myklebust poured in three lay-ups to make it a 67-48 game. The Blue Devils, who shot 49 percent for the contest (24-49), used eight straight points by Tricia VanVreede to cut their deficit to 77-64.

During the game's opening 11 minutes, UW-Stout held the advantage. Sami Schoeder totaled two free throws and a jumper to go ahead, 8-2. Following a basket with the foul by Myklebust, Wenig swished a try from downtown to mark the Titans' first lead at 14-12 with 10:37 on the clock.

Kitzke continued UW-Oshkosh's scoring list with 17 points, along with 13 from Wenig. The Titans, who shot a season-high 53 percent (31-59), also used 11 points by Churchill and seven from Boeder. UW-Oshkosh added 47 percent accuracy on three-pointers (8-17) and 79 percent efficiency at the foul line (11-14).

Schoeder topped the visitors with 15 points, followed by 12 from VanVreede and 10 by Gretta Layman. UW-Stout finished with 6-of-15 success from long range (40 percent) and 13-of-18 conversions at the charity stripe (72 percent).

UW-Oshkosh won for just the third time in its last 16 meetings with UW-Stout.

The Titans entertain UW-La Crosse on Wednesday (Jan. 19).
