Shae Beckwith swished four late triples on her way to a career-best 20 points in Edgewood College's 60-51 victory over the UW-Oshkosh women's basketball team on Tuesday (Dec. 21) in Madison.

After finishing off a traditional three-point play with 8:23 remaining, Beckwith hit four deep jumpers in a span of 4:07 to put the game away. During that stretch, the Eagles (6-4) upped their lead from 40-30 to 57-41. Edgewood College's win was its first in eight all-time meetings with the Titans (7-5).

Beckwith had things going right away, knocking down a jump shot to take a 6-2 advantage. After a three-point basket from Megan Wenig (So. • Oshkosh), Beckwith answered with a three-ball of her own to make it a four-point cushion. The Titans then tallied four points at the free throw line to go ahead, 15-14, midway through the half.

Edgewood College regained the lead on Melanie Walker's lay-up, and the Eagles held it for the rest of the contest. They closed out the first period strong, getting a Maggie Peerenboom three-point basket and Alison Tobin's lay-up just before the horn to gain a 25-19 margin at the break.

UW-Oshkosh cut its deficit to just two points with hoops by Shelby Churchill (Sr. • Sheboygan) and Wenig. The Eagles responded with six unanswered points from three different players to make it a 31-23 tally with 15:47 on the clock.

Michelle Boeder (Sr. • Oshkosh) contributed a long-range connection and a lay-in, but Edgewood College continued to spread the ball around. The Eagles' 9-2 scoring run featured points by five players as they stretched their lead to 40-28 at the 9:26 mark.

Wenig contributed nine points and team-highs of six rebounds and two assists for UW-Oshkosh, which shot 37 percent (20-54) from the field. The Titans also received 11 points and three steals from Katie Kitzke (So. • South Milwaukee) and nine points from Ebbens. Though it sank 7-of-8 free throws (88 percent), UW-Oshkosh made just 29 percent of its deep tries (4-14).

The Eagles used 55 percent accuracy from downtown (6-11) en route to 43 percent shooting overall (23-54). They received 10 points from Tobin, along with nine rebounds by Walker. Edgewood College, which lost the rebounding category (29-37), was successful on 8-of-11 foul shots (73 percent).

The Titans have plenty of preparation time for their matchup with UW-Stevens Point on Jan. 5.
