ASTON, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy had their run of 13 consecutive conference championship game appearances come to an end as the Griffins fell at Neumann, 65-48, in the semifinal round Wednesday night.

Junior Brittany Neill led Gwynedd (17-10) with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Stacey Judge added 10 points, four rebounds, and four steals, but Gwynedd couldn't find their scoring touch late in the contest.

The Griffins held Neumann to just 24% shooting in the first half, where Gwynedd would lead by as much as eight with eight minutes left. The Knights would use a 10-0 run capped off by a trey from Katie Young to reclaim the lead. Neumann led 24-22 at the half.

Gwynedd had to overcome an early 12-point second half deficit, methodically grinding away at the Neumann lead to get within 46-43 with just over seven minutes remaining in the contest.

The Griffin offense then sputtered, registering just one field goal over the next five minutes as a three-point hole turned into a 58-46 Neumann lead with 2:20 left, to which GM could not recover from.

Young had game-highs of 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Knights (19-7) who will host Immaculata in the title game on Saturday. Teammate Sami Borcky added 14.
