The 19th-ranked Saint Vincent women's basketball team earned a spot in the Presidents' Athletic Conference semifinals with a 64-47 win over visiting Chatham University in the Carey Center.

Brittany Sedlock led a trio of double-digit scorers for the Bearcats, with 25 points, while Devin McGrath and Emily Fenton each scored 10.  The Bearcats forced 23 Chatham turnovers while committing just 11, and held the Cougars to just 35 percent from the floor, and 18 percent (4-for-22) from behind the three-point arc.

Led by Fenton, the Bearcats took control from the start, as the junior scored eight points in the first four minutes to help Saint Vincent to a 15-4 lead.  A jumper from Ariel Rocco with 11:38 left in the opening frame made the score 21-10, before the Bearcats enjoyed their largest lead of the half, 30-12, on a Sedlock bucket with two minutes left until the intermission.  The Cougars scored the final two points of the half to go into the break trailing 30-14.

Saint Vincent kept the momentum to open the second half, with Sedlock scoring five points in the opening four minutes to give the Bearcats their first 20-point lead of the night, 41-21.  After a pair of free throws from Melissa Mansur, Saint Vincent enjoyed its largest advantage, 47-25, with 10:05 left in the half.

Chatham would use a 9-4 run to close the gap to 15, 49-34, on a three from Colleen Kiss with 7:30 to go, but the Bearcats would cruise down the stretch, ending the game on a 9-4 run of their own to pick up their first PAC playoff victory in team history.

The Bearcats tallied 16 assists on their 21 field goals for the evening, led by four apiece from Mansur, Fenton, and Maria Baroffio.  Baroffio led Saint Vincent with nine rebounds, while McGrath led the way with three steals.

Chatham, which ends the year with a 10-16 mark, was led by Sonjia Hoston, who scored 14 points, and Carly Zelenak, who came off the bench to score 10 points, on a perfect 5-for-5 mark from the field.  The much taller Chatham team did enjoy a 41-33 advantage in rebounding, with Hoston and Kayla Hilko sharing the team lead with eight boards apiece.

The Bearcats, now 23-3 on the year, will face third-seeded Waynesburg University on Friday evening at 6pm at Thomas More College.  The Yellow Jackets defeated Washington & Jefferson 52-42 in their opening round playoff game.  The winner of Friday night's tilt will advance to the PAC championship game on Saturday afternoon, against either top-seeded Thomas More or fifth-seeded Grove City.
