Regina Washington(5-6 treys) and Megan Bouwens(10 rebounds) scored 17 points each to lead the women's basketball team to a 91-59 victory against John Jay College in a CUNYAC/Con Edison Championship Tournament Semifinal played on Tuesday night at CCNY's Nat Holman Gymnasium.

With the result, the Bearcats advance to their sixth consecutive CUNYAC Final seeking to win their fifth title (previous in '06, '08, '09, '10) in team history.

The Bearcats coached by Machli Joseph will play in the women's final scheduled for Saturday, February 26th, at 3:00 pm, at CCNY's Nat Holman Gymnasium. Tickets are free, but necessary for admittance into the gym. For free tickets, please call 646-312-5048.

For the fourth time in five years, the team will battle growing tournament rival Lehman College for the championship and automatic berth to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.

The Bearcats (22-5) shot 46 percent (20-44) against John Jay in the first half to build a commanding 49-28 halftime advantage. Washington scored 11 first-half points, including shooting 3-of-4 from three-point range.

During the second half, the Bearcats continued their defensive pressure to limit John Jay into shooting 29 percent (13-42) to cruise to the 91-59 semifinal victory.

Trista Thomasscored a career-high 15 points to help Baruch outscore the Bloodhounds, 34-2, in total bench scoring. Folashade Akinde(13) and Shamika Boyce(15) each reached double-figures in rebounds, while Camille Voitotdished out a career-high six assists.

Monique Salmon, the two-time CUNYAC Player of the Year and on the verge of once again leading the NCAA Division III in assists for the third straight season, had another all-round game with seven points, six rebounds, six assists and one steal in just 17 minutes of action.

Jessica Dulebanarrowly missed a double-double with nine points and rebounds each.

John Jay, which is coached by Baruch alum Diane Ramirez '06, finish their season with an 11-16 record and a 10-win improvement compared to last season. Jamecia Forsythe led all players this evening with 21 points and 20 rebounds in the loss.
