GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Senior Kristy McGrath netted her 1,000th-career point to highlight Gwynedd-Mercy's 61-47 win over Baptist Bible in the first round of the CSAC Tournament Monday night.
The fourth-seeded Griffins (17-9) will travel to top-seeded Neumann on Wednesday in semifinal action in a 7 p.m. start.
McGrath finished with eight points and seven boards. Freshman Taylour Alston added 12 points, 12 rebounds, and six blocks in the win.
Jessica White and Ruth Butts each had 14 for the Defenders (15-11).
GM overcame very rough start, falling behind as much as 10 points before closing the half on a 26-7 run over the last 10:59 of the stanza to lead 31-22 at the break.
A 20-5 sprint to start the second helped the Griffins lead by as much as 24.
McGrath became the 12th Griffin to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
