Westminster's Season Ends With Four-Point Loss at Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Westminster College women's basketball team's season came to an end Saturday with a 61-57 loss at Grove City in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game. The Titans finished the season with a 7-18 overall record and a 2-14 mark in the PAC for ninth place. Grove City improves to 13-12 for its first winning season since 2004-05 including 8-8 in the PAC.

The loss eliminated Westminster from the eighth and final spot in next week's PAC tournament.

Freshman guard Courtney Zitt and sophomore forward Katie Hughes led the Titans with 12 points apiece, while sophomore forward Andi Ridge bucketed 10 points.

Zitt posted nine rebounds, two blocks and three assists. Junior forward Emily Dolsak pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds to go with two points.

Grove City's Christine Slater led all scorers and rebounders with 18 points and 11 boards. Alison Wells also bucketed 12 points to go with seven rebounds for the Wolverines.

The Titans never led in the game but they almost came back from a 17-point, second-half deficit. Westminster trailed by 17 (49-32) with 11:45 to go and 16 (53-37) with 5:46 remaining.

The Titans slowly whittled Grove City's lead down to four points by ending the game on a 20-8 run.
