ETBU Hands Lady Choctaws Third Straight Loss, 74-60

MARSHALL, TX - The Mississippi College dropped their third game in a row for the second time this season with a 74-60 loss at East Texas Baptist in Ornelas Gymansim on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Choctaws struggled from the floor, only shooting 30% (17-57) and a mark of 25% (6-24) in the first half.  The Lady Tigers, however, shot 52% (24-46) from the field.

After MC took a 10-6 lead early in the second half, ETBU closed on a 31-14 run to take a 74-60 lead into the halftime break.

The second half was much of the same as the Lady Tigers opened on a 6-0 run and never led by fewer than 13 points the rest of the way.

The Lady Choctaws were paced by senior Jennifer Wair with 20 points and 11 rebounds.  The Camden, MS native only shot 5-17 from the field, however.  Sophomore Traci Rodgers finished with 13 points, while Brigit Taylor poured in 10 points, all in the second half.

The Lady Tigers were led by Emily Leek-Roberson and Ruth Stewart, who each finished with 12 points.  Every player for ETBU that saw playing time scored as both Jordan Langford (11 pts.) and Ashley Featherston (10 pts.) finished in double-figures.

The Lady Choctaws have one more game in the regular season as they will host Louisiana College on Monday night in the "Golden Dome" at 5:30 p.m.  MC has already clinched the #3 seed in the ASC East and will face Hardin-Simmons in the first round of the ASC Tournament.
