The Oswego State women's basketball team completed its back-to-back road trip with a 60-51 victory against Potsdam, and clinched a spot in the upcoming SUNYAC Playoffs Saturday afternoon at Jerry Welsh Gymnasium. Oswego State improved to 10-12 overall with the win (7-8 in SUNYAC play), while Potsdam fell to 3-19 (2-13 in SUNYAC play) with the loss.

The teams exchanged leads before a layup by Oswego State's Kayla Ryan started a 5-0 run early in the first half, creating a lead that Potsdam dented several times, but the Lakers maintained their advantage for the duration of the contest.

Ryan shot 7-for-13 from the floor and scored 17 points, while adding three steals and cleaning the glass for 16 boards. Lauren Nunziato had another solid performance off the bench, scoring ten points.  Kristen Diglio chipped in 12 points and four assists, while Meagan Stover came away with four steals on the defensive end.

Potsdam's Aimee Kellicutt was the star for the home team, shooting 8-of-14 and scoring 23 of the team's 51 points. Kellicutt also led the team with six boards and four steals. Brittany Whitton aided the Bears with six assists.

The Lakers led by as many as eight points in the first period before a three-point shot by Kellicutt narrowed the lead to 24-23 at the half. Oswego State went 11-for-23 from the field in the second half, an improvement from its first half 9-for-32, to ensure the lead would remain secure.

The Laker women come back home where they will play the three remaining regular season games, hosting rival New Paltz (14-9 overall, 12-4 in SUNYAC play) Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in Max Ziel Gymnasium.
