2011 BATTLE OF LEXINGTON: Bearcats Rout John Jay (89-51) on Senior Night

The women's basketball scored the first 23 points of the second half to cruise to an 89-51 Battle of Lexington victory on Senior Night in front of 1,200 fans in the ARC Arena.

With the result, the women win the regular season championship with an undefeated 12-0 record in CUNYAC. They will start as the #1 seed in the CUNYAC Tournament and will host a quarterfinal round playoff game against the #8 seed (TBA) on Saturday, February 19 (Time TBA).

Prior to the start of the game, the Bearcats (19-4, 12-0 CUNYAC) honored seniors
Trista Thomas, Regina Washington, Megan Bouwensand Monique Salmon

Washington scored a career-high 26 points (10-16 fg) in the victory, while Salmon (eight rebounds, six assists) and Folashade Akinde (13 rebounds) finished with 13 points each. Thomas scored seven points, two steals and two assists.

Overall, Baruch shot 42 percent (33-78), and limited the visiting Bloodhounds to 25 percent (19-75) shooting.

Danielle Moses led John Jay (10-13, 7-5 CUNYAC) in the loss with 12 points.

The women's basketball team will quickly return to action and finish their regular season schedule on Friday, February 11th, with a 5:00 pm CUNYAC road contest at rival Hunter College.
