BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater Eagles women's basketball team used a 32-6 run to open the game to jump all over the visiting Randolph WildCats early before cruising to a 71-30 conference victory on Tuesday night in Nininger Hall.

Bridgewater took an early lead off of a Jessica Mullen three-pointer, before the WildCats answered with a trey of their own from the hands of Lauren French to knot the game at three each with 18:48 to play in the first half.

Following the French trey, Bridgewater went on a 29-3 run over the game's next 15 minutes to put the WildCats in a 32-6 hole.

Randolph ended the Bridgewater run with a Brandie Witt three-pointer to cut the lead to 32-9 for the Eagles with 3:38 to play in the opening frame.

Witt followed her three pointer with a layup a minute later to chip the Bridgewater advantage to 32-11, but the Eagles tallied the half's final five points to take a 37-11 lead into the locker room.

Senior Jordan Burkholder led the Eagles offense in the first half with 11 points in just 14 minutes of action.

In the first half, the Eagles shot at a blistering 59.3% clip, while holding the WildCats to just 16% from the floor.

The two teams traded scores out of the intermission to put the game at a 39-13 gap following an Olivia Johnson layup with 19:02 to play.

Following Johnson's layup, Mullen drilled three layups in a row to kick start a 25-1 Bridgewater run over the game's next seven-plus minutes to build the Eagles lead to a game-high 50 points at a 64-14 margin with 11:33 remaining.

Randolph finally heated up from the field down the stretch, cutting the Bridgewater lead to as low as 40 off of a late 8-0 run, but eventually it was the Eagles taking a 71-30 victory over the visiting WildCats.

The 30 point output for Randolph is the lowest for a Bridgewater opponent since Hollins was held to just 25 points in a 71-25 win on February 22, 2008.

Offensively, Burkholder and Mullen led the way with 13 and 11 points, respectively, as 13 different Bridgewater players found the scoreboard in the win.

On the glass, Emileigh Lambert and Rebecca Reifsnider each pulled down six rebounds as the Eagles held a slim 38-to-37 advantage in the rebounding department.

Witt led the WildCats offense with a team-high 10 points.

On the glass, Johnson pulled down a game-high seven rebounds to lead the way.

Bridgewater owned a 42-to-10 advantage in points in the paint and a 29-to-4 advantage in points off turnovers. Also, the Eagles bench outscored the WildCats bench by a 33-to-1 margin.

With the win, Bridgewater extends its home winning streak to 13 and its overall winning streak to six. The Eagles are currently 18-3 on the season, with a 13-3 mark in ODAC play, matching the team's best start since the 2005-2006 campaign when the team reached the NCAA Final 16.

Bridgewater is back in action on Saturday afternoon when it takes on Randolph-Macon in Nininger Hall. Top off against the Yellow Jackets is slated for a 3:00 p.m. start.
