#13/10 LVC Fights Past Widener, 72-63

ANNVILLE, Pa. – #13/10 Lebanon Valley scored 42 points in the second half to claim a 72-63 win over Widener Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen extended their win streak to 15 games, just two short of tying the program's longest win streak set during the 2001-02 season. 

Four players reached double digit points for the Valley: Lauren Ruhl (16),Liz Borgia (13), Tierney Hiltz (13) and Suzie Noyes (12). All eight players that saw action for Lebanon Valley (20-1, 10-0 CC) scored two or more points and grabbed at least one rebound. Noyes led the team in rebounding with six boards while Ruhl had five. 

With five team blocks, Noyes had three and Renee Fritz tallied two. Noyes also led the team in steals with three, and both Fritz and Caitlin Murphyposted two steals. 

Andrea Hoover helped the offensive effort, totaling 11 assists and tying the record for most assists in a single game. Four other players in LVC history notched 11 assists in a single game including two 11 assists efforts from Missy Bleyzgis '97. 

Kate Dellinger led Widener (15-6, 6-4 CC) with 19 points. Lil Carney added 15 and was 3-for-4 from behind the arc.

Borgia notched eight points and Noyes added five points, three rebounds, and two steals to pace Lebanon Valley in the first half. 

Opening the game with a 3-pointer from Noyes, the Dutchmen maintained control early. Widener was limited to seven points through the game's first seven minutes and LVC reached a game-high 13 point lead at 12:49 after a three point play by Borgia. 

Lebanon Valley held a nine point advantage with under five minutes to play in the first half and looked to end strong. Widener scored 11 points and held LVC to just three points for the remainder to come within one at the break. 

Both teams started the second half scoring seven points, and Widener cut LVC's lead to one after a 3-pointer from Joanna Persiano. The Dutchmen went on a roll after, posting a 12 point advantage with 7:27 to play. 

The Pride played a close game for the next five minutes, cutting the lead to single digits. A 3-pointer from Carney with 2:49 remaining made it 62-59 LVC, but that was as close as they'd come. The Dutchmen finished strong down the stretch for the 72-63 win. 

LVC shot 56.8% from the floor and was 75% at the line for the game. Of the team's 42 points in the second half, 24 came from the bench and 16 were scored in the paint.
