LEXINGTON, Ky. - Holly Milburn grabbed her 500th career rebound and Olivia Akridge tallied a career-high 26 points Saturday, as Transylvania blitzed Defiance 104-64 in Heartland Conference women's basketball play at the Beck Center.

Transy improves to 15-6, 10-4 HCAC, while the Yellow Jackets are 9-12, 7-7 HCAC.
Milburn, who entered the contest with 493 rebounds, had 10 to go with 21 points. She is just the sixth Pioneer female player with 1,000 points and 500 rebounds. She passed the 1,000-point mark earlier this year.
Akridge, also a 1,000-point scorer, converted her first eight shots from the field and finished 11 for 13, including one of one from long range. She also had five assists.
Senior guard Shayla Black also contributed to the rout, gaining a double double with 11 points and a career-tying best 10 assists. She just missed a triple, grabbling eight rebounds. She was five of eight from the field as the Pioneers combined to shoot 55.1 percent for the game.
Mikyla Mosby had a career high 12 points in 12 minutes for Transy while Kennae Demus notched 12 points and grabbed four rebounds. Transy had a 58-35 edge on the board and led by as many as 47 points in the second half.
It was the first time the Pioneers topped the century scoring mark since beating Mt. St. Joseph 106-71 last season. Mosby's three with 36 seconds to play made it 102-64. She scored Transy's final seven points.
Defiance struggled from the field throughout the game, finishing at 27.4 percent, including nine of 32 from three point range. Two Yellow Jackets, Courtney Schmersal and Maggie Neanen, had nine points to lead the team.
Transy stormed to a 32-point lead at halftime, 56-24, shooting a blazing 60 percent (24 of 40) from the field. Milburn and Akridge combined for 32 points, 17 by Akridge, and poured in 14 of 18 shots from the field. Akridge was seven of seven shooting in the opening 20 minutes.
Defiance, meanwhile, never led and converted just nine of 39 shots (23 percent). Included in that total was a two for 16 effort from three-point range. No Yellow Jacket had more than five points in the period. Transy also had a 30-19 edge on the boards was led by Milburn's five rebounds.
The Pioneers are back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Mt. St. Joseph for a 7:30 p.m. matchup.
