(Hamburg, NY) – The 23rd ranked Medaille women's basketball team stayed atop the AMCC standings with a (70-43) thumping of crosstown rival Hilbert College.  The Lady Mavs continued to play without their top two scorers but it didn't matter in this one as they cruised to their fourth straight victory.

The Medaille onslaught was led by junior forward Tanisha Travis (Fairport, NY/Fairport) who poured in a game high (18) points, while pulling down (6) boards and coming up with (6) steals.  Travis connected on (8 of 13) shots from the floor in leading the Lady Mavs.

Freshman Tara Caples (Rochester, NY/Spencerport) came off the bench to chip in with (6) points and a team high (10) rebounds.  The Lady Mavs won the rebounding battle over the Hawks (47-39) and once again dominated in the paint (36-16).

Medaille forced the Hawks into (27) turnovers and turned those into (21) points.  The Lady Mavs also dominated the transition game, scoring ten fast break points to Hilbert's zero.  The Lady Mavs bench also played a significant role as they outscored their counterparts (34-14).

Senior Amanda Sahhar (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) moved into 6th place on the all time rebounding list with her seven boards this evening.  She now has (583) in her career.  She also contributed (6) points, (3) assists, (1) block and (1) assist en route to the victory.

The Lady Mavs are now (18-2) overall and (13-1) in AMCC play.  They will head to Mt. Aloysius College on Saturday (2/5) for a 3:00pm conference game.
