ADRIAN, Mich. – Albion College post players Patty Rewa and Autumn Haggadonecombined to shoot 14-of-21 from the field to power the Britons to a 68-48 victory over Adrian College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's basketball action Monday, Jan. 31.
Rewa posted a career-high 30 points, making 11 of her 17 shots, to move into second place on the MIAA's scoring ladder for the season at 15.4 points per game in league play. She collected 15 rebounds to complete her eighth double-double of the season.
Rewa scored a basket and a free throw, Tanner Johnson added two baskets and a free throw, and Kelsey Effner provided a layup as Albion jumped out to a 10-1 lead 6:15 into the game and never looked back. Boosted by 52 percent shooting in the first half, Albion had doubled up Adrian, 32-16, after 20 minutes of play.
Albion led by as many as 29 in the second half before settling for the 20-point margin of victory
Keigan Edwards also scored in double figures for Albion. She went 4-of-9 from 3-point range for 14 points.
LaQwana Dockery produced 13 points to lead Adrian.
Albion (9-10 overall, 7-3 MIAA) can reach the .500 mark for the season if it can defeat Olivet College Wednesday night.
