LONGVIEW, Texas – The No. 19 Louisiana College Lady Wildcats broke away from their LeTourneau counterparts in the second half as they notched a 93-59 victory Saturday at Solheim Arena.

Led by Tillisha Givens' 22 points and 15 rebounds, Louisiana College – the only American Southwest Conference team ranked in d3hoops.com's Top 25 – cruised to its sixth consecutive victory after outscoring LeTourneau 46-19 in the second half.

Sophomore post Laura Hahn (Cuero, Texas/Cuero) came off the LeTourneau bench to score a team-high 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting Saturday. Her 13 points also matched her personal season high.

Freshman guard Andrea Ashley (Kilgore, Texas/Kilgore) added a career-high eight points for the YellowJackets (2-17, 1-13 ASC East) in her first collegiate start.

With the win, Louisiana College (17-1, 12-1 ASC East) maintained its two-game lead over second-place UT-Dallas in the division standings.

After withstanding a battle with their hosts during the first half, the Lady 'Cats created some distance between themselves and the Jackets after shooting 61 percent from the field (20 of 33) after halftime.

Meanwhile, the Jackets' shooting touch from the first half disappeared, as the Wildcats held LeTourneau to 21 percent shooting (6 of 28). Louisiana College outscored the YellowJackets 46-19 in the second half.

LeTourneau players had shot 53 percent (17 of 32) during the first 20 minutes of play.

The visitors took advantage of 27 LeTourneau giveaways during the game, outscoring the YellowJackets 28-16 in points off turnovers.

The Lady Wildcats also outrebounded LeTourneau 44-31, which included 20 offensive rebounds to LeTourneau's 18 defensive caroms. Givens, the ASC East's preseason Player of the Year selection, grabbed 10 offensive rebounds.

After three ties and three lead changes in the game's first nine minutes, the Lady Wildcats took control with a 14-2 run between the 10:57 and 6:01 marks of the opening half to take a 33-22 lead. The Wildcats, who shot 50 percent (6 of 12) from 3-point range in the first half, drained three treys during that stretch.

Rosalyn Wilmer and Kayla Guidry scored 16 points apiece for Lady Wildcats.

Lauren Llanes (League City, Texas/Clear Creek) scored a season-high six points for LeTourneau. Cait Collins (Fort Worth, Texas/Hardin-Simmons) also tallied six points for the Jackets.

Freshman point guard Megan McGuire (Hallsville, Texas/Hallsville) scored five points and handed out a game-high six assists.

The YellowJackets return to action Thursday when they travel to Mississippi College for the first leg of their eastward road trip. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
