Trinity Women's Basketball Loses To Bowdoin

Hartford, Conn. – Sophomore guard Kaitlin Donahoe (Amherst, N.Y.) scored 13 of her game-high 17 points in the second half to lead the visiting Bowdoin College Polar Bears to a 62-51 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's basketball action this evening at Oosting Gymnasium.  Trinity drops to 12-6 overall and 2-2 in the NESCAC, while the Polar Bears improve to 15-3 overall and 2-2 in the league with their first win in three games and their 15th consecutive victory against the Bantams.

Bowdoin outscored Trinity, 22-9, including nine points by Donahoe, over the final 11 minutes of the game, after the Bantams had taken a 42-40 lead on a short jumper by freshman forward Shantel Hanniford (Nantucket, Mass.) at the 11:43 mark.  Donahoe ignited the run with a three-pointer.  The Polar Bears shot 52.6 percent from the field, while holding Trinity to 25 percent field goal shooting in the second half.  Trinity made more field goals than Bowdoin (19 to 17) and more three-pointers (5 to 4), but the visitors held a 24 to 8 edge from the foul line. 

Junior guard Kaitlin Ciarleglio (Waterbury, Conn.) paced Trinity with 13 points and added four rebounds and three assists, while senior tri-captain guard Kristen Fahey (Cumberland, R.I.) had 11 points and four assists, and senior tri-captain forward Rebecca Cohn (San Francisco, Calif.) added 10 points, a game-high 10 rebounds, and four assists.  Senior co-captain guard Katie Bergeron (Bradley, Maine) and junior guard Jill Henrikson (Bath, Maine) each scored 10 points for Bowdoin.
