Late Run Gives Lady Wildcats Victory over Lady Choctaws, 71-56

PINEVILLE, LA - The Mississippi College women's basketball team were outscored, 36-15, over the final 14 minutes of the game as they fell to Louisiana College, 71-56, in the H.O. West Fieldhouse on Monday night. 

The Lady Choctaws have now dropped three consecutive games and have lost five of their last six after opening the season 11-0.

MC led by as many as five points in the first half but trailed, 31-26 at halftime.  The Lady Choctaws would go on a 15-4 run to open the second period before LC stormed back for the victory.

The Lady Choctaws outshot LC from the floor, knocking down 43.1% (22-51) of their shots as the Lady Wildcats were only 21-53 (39.6%).  MC struggle from the free throw line, however, only making 10-21.

Senior forward Jalessa Taylor tallied her second double-double in as many games with 19 points and 11 rebounds.  Senior forward Jennifer Wair also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Senior Randa Lee scored nine points, while sophomore Traci Rodgers poured in eight.  Lee and sophomore Elizabeth Brooks led MC with four assists apiece.

The Lady Wildcats were led by Roslyn Wilmer with 27 points, 17 of which came in the first half.  Tillisha Givens score 15 points, while Shasidy Ludgood (11 pts.) and Kayla Guidry (10 pts.) were each in double-figures.

The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday night when they travel to Longview, TX to face LeTourneau at 5:30 p.m.
