Colby women win three OT thriller over Bates

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Diana Manduca (Portland, Maine) nailed a 10-foot jump shot with three seconds left in the third overtime period and the Colby College women's basketball team had three players with double-doubles in scoring and rebounding in a wild 90-88 victory over Bates College on Friday night at Wadsworth Gymnasium.

The teams played an overtime game for the second time this season, this time going an extra 15 minutes. Colby moved to 11-3 overall and 1-1 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference, while Bates fell to 13-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Manduca finished with 16 points and a game-high six steals while playing 51 minutes for the Mules. Meanwhile, Rachael Mack (Augusta, Maine) had 20 points and 11 rebounds, Jules Kowalski (Montville, N.J.) added 18 points and 16 rebounds, and Jil Vaughan (Wareham, Mass.) finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Junior point guard Aarika Ritchie (Lee, Maine) had 15 points and eight assists.

Christine McCall (Lowell, Mass.) had 19 points, nine rebounds, four steals, and three assists for Bates. Allie Beaulieu (Swampscott, Mass.) had 16 points and four assists, , Annie Burns (Topsfield, Mass.) had 14 points and four assists, Brianna Hawkins (South Portland, Maine) added 11 points and four assists, and Lauren Dobish (Chambersburg, Pa.) had 10 points.
