DOVER, Del. - Five Wesley College players scored in double figures as the Wolverines ended a five game losing streak with a resound 76-44 Capital Athletic Conference win over Hood.

Wesley (8-10, 3-6 CAC) hit 52 percent from the floor and sank 7-of-12 threes in the game (58 percent).  Hood, meanwhile, mustered just 26 percent shooting and hit just 1-of-21 from behind the arc.

Angie Owens (Seaford, Del./Seaford) led the Wolverines with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting, nine rebounds and five steals in the game. 

Amanda Lawrence (Edgewater, Md./South River) entered the game as a seldom used reserve, but exploded for 15 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 2-of-4 from three point distance. 

Cory Boyd (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant) returned from a one-game injury absence and matched Jazmine Miller (Dover, Del./Dover) and Allison Beddia (New Castle, Del./Delcastle) with 10 points.  Boyd and Beddia each hit a pair of threes, while Beddia also grabbed seven rebounds. 

Wesley jumped ahead 25-9 and held the Blazers to just 4-of-22 shooting in the first half en route to a 34-17 halftime lead.  The Wolverines took their biggest lead of the game on a three by Haley Thomas (Bear, Del./St. Georges Tech) that made it 68-33 with 5:19 left in the game.

Dyanna Prater was the only Hood player to reach double figures with a game-high 20 points. While she went 7-of-14 shooting, the rest of her teammates were hounded into a 7-of-39 effort.

The Wolverines will look to stay in the win column when they host Salisbury on January 29 at 2:00 PM.
