Hoover Scores 1,000th As #17/14 LVC Improves To 17-1

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Andrea Hoover scored her 1,000th career point and dished out nine assists as #17/14 Lebanon Valley improved to 17-1 with a complete 79-46 win over Albright on Saturday.

The Dutchmen also finished the first half of Commonwealth Conference play at 7-0, combining four players with double-digit scoring with 19 team steals along with a commanding 46-25 rebounding advantage.

Hoover entered the game with 995 career points and reached 1,000 in just a minute, scoring the first eight points of the game for LVC and reaching 1,000 on a steal and breakaway layup. She is the ninth player in program history to reach the milestone, joining teammate Suzie Noyes, who did it Dec. 30 against Ramapo.

Hoover finished with 12 points, nine assists, and four steals. Caitlin Bach had a career game with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Lauren Ruhl led all scorers with 16 points. Renee Fritz added 12 points.

MariLynn McMonagle  led Albright with 12 points, and Jessica McGinness added 10.

Lebanon Valley never trailed as Hoover scored the game's first six point in the opening minute, and the Dutchmen pounded away offensively to take a 20-point lead by the time Tierney Hiltz canned a three-pointer with 3:36 left in the half. LVC went into the break up 53-25 after taking twice as many shots as the Lions (40 to 20) and generating 11 steals on 15 Albright turnovers in the first half.

LVC turned it into a blowout in the second half, never letting off the gas as they got 39 points off the bench, led by reserves Ruhl (16 points) and Hiltz (7). Amanda Donia also grabbed nine rebounds to go with four points in 14 minutes.

The Dutchmen also dominated down low, outscoring Albright 50-22 in the paint while scoring 41 points off turnovers.

LVC will host Arcadia next Saturday.
