Lady Eagles' Three-Point Shooting Downs Lady Choctaws, 67-62

CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College women's basketball team dropped their second consecutive game with a 67-62 loss to the University of the Ozarks on Saturday afternoon in A.E. Wood Coliseum.

Ozarks earned their first-ever win in the "Golden Dome" after dropping their previous 13 meetings in Clinton.

The Lady Eagles were hot from the outside as they shot 8-11 from the three-point line in the first half and 11-20 for the game.  Overall, Ozarks shot 48% from the floor in the victory.

The Lady Choctaws struggle from the floor, shooting an identical 12-31 (38.7%) in both halves.  MC also only made 4-13 three-point attempts in the loss.

After leading 36-31 at halftime, Ozarks extended their lead to as many as 15 points in the second half.  The Lady Choctaws would cut the lead to four but could get no closer.

Senior forward Jalessa Taylor led MC with a 23 points and 10 rebounds, collecting her third double-double of the year.  Senior forward Jennifer Wair notched her fourth double-double of the year with 16 points and 14 boards.  Sophomore Traci Rodgers also scored in double-figures with 13 points.

The Lady Eagles had five players in double-figures, led by Lacey Phillips with 12 points.  Phillips also recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds.

The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Monday night when they travel to Pineville to face Louisiana College at 5:30 p.m.
