ROADRUNNERS CAPTURE TENTH WIN OF THE SEASON, 70-49 OVER BULLDOGS

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team posted a 70-49 win over non-conference foe Brooklyn College today at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners improve to 10-6 overall while the Bulldogs fall to 8-6.

Three different Roadrunners posted double-digit point totals while they dished out a season high 23 assists. Alexa Ryan led the team with 15 points, sinking four three pointers. She also recorded five assists and six rebounds while Brittany Howes tallied 13 points, going 5-6 from the field and 3-3 from the foul line.

Danielle Beam posted her third double-double of the season when she collected a team high 11 rebounds and 13 points while dishing out four assists. Lindsey Gripenburg and Faith Flannery added nine and eight points respectively. The team shot 50% from the field (28-55) and 81% from the foul line (9-11).

In the first half with the Roadrunners up 19-12, Ryan would spark a 10-0 run with back to back three pointers before Alayna Donadio made a jumper at 9:02 and Gripenburg sunk two foul shots at 7:47 to take a 29-12 lead. Ramapo took their biggest lead of the half, 33-13 on a made jumper by Gripenburg before the Bulldogs went on a 21-5 run to end the first half only down four, 38-34. Brooklyn hit five three pointers in that span.

The Roadrunners went on an 8-4 run to start the second half, as Gripenburg hit a jumper at 14:04 to take a 46-38 lead. Back to back baskets for the Bulldogs cut the lead to three with 12:41 on the clock before Ramapo went on an 14-2 run to take a 15 point lead on a jumper by Ryan with 7:20 left in the game. The Roadrunners stretched the lead to 19 with 2:41 remaining on a made basket by Howes before Beam made the last basket of the game with 31 seconds remaining, she was assisted by Gripenburg, 70-49.

The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, when they host NJAC rival New Jersey City University at 5:30 PM.
