Maroons Improve to 3-0 in UAA Play

CHICAGO -- Meghan Herrick, Bryanne Halfhill, and Taylor Simpson combined to score 55 points to lead the University of Chicago women's basketball team to a 92-75 win over University Athletic Association rival Emory University Sunday at the Ratner Athletics Center.

The trio accounted for all of the Maroons' points as they jumped out to a 21-1 lead during the game's first six minutes.

Chicago (11-3 overall, 3-0 UAA), which never trailed, opened up a 51-34 halftime advantage and remained ahead by at least 20 points for most of the second stanza.

Simpson led all scorers with 22 points to go along with a game-high 13 rebounds as she notched her fifth double-double of the season. Herrick (pictured) finished with a season-high 21 points and eight assists, while Halfhill contributed 12 points and seven assists.

En route to their seventh straight win overall and seventh in as many home games, the Maroons outshot the Eagles (7-7, 0-3) by a 52% to 39% margin and held a 45-27 edge on the boards.

Savannah Morgan led four Emory players in double figures with 13 points. She also handed out a game-high nine assists. Becca Feldman and Melissa Koike added 12 and 11 points, respectively, off the bench. Hannah Lilly also totaled 11 points.
