GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Junior forward Emily Dolsak scored a career-high 23 points but it was not enough as the Westminster College women's basketball team lost 68-59 at Thiel Wednesday night in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game. The Titans, losers of 10 of their last 11 games, fall to 3-11 on the season and 0-7 in the PAC. The Tomcats improve to 3-11 and 2-4 in the league.

Dolsak, whose previous career high was 19 points vs. Grove City last year, shot 9-14 from the field and nearly accounted for half of the Titans' field goals as they shot 35.7 percent (20-56).

Senior point guard Kaitlin McCarthy bucketed 14 points for Westminster including 9-10 shooting from the free-throw line. McCarthy also tied a season high with seven assists.

Sophomore forward Katie Hughes was the Titans' third player to score in double figures with 11 points on 5-12 shooting. Hughes and Dolsak tied for the team lead with five rebounds.

Two Thiel players posted double-doubles as Ashley Davis scored 14 points to go with 12 rebounds and Kelly Barzak bucketed 11 points to go with 10 boards. Jasmin Jones also scored 12 points while handed out five assists.

Thiel led by as many as six points in the first half before leading 32-30 at halftime. Westminster led only once in the second half and the game's final tie score was 51-51 with 7:57 remaining.  Neither team scored until the 5:43 mark before Thiel eventually re-established a lead.

McCarthy knocked down a couple of free throws to cut the Thiel margin to two points with 3:41 remaining. However, Westminster failed to score for the remainder of the game as Thiel ended the game on a 7-0 run.

Westminster returns to action at Geneva Saturday at 1 p.m. in a game that was originally scheduled for 5:30 p.m. but was moved ahead because of the Pittsburgh Steelers game.
