After exchanging buckets early in the game, Coe went on a 6-0 run to take a 14-8 lead.  The Kohawks would never trail from that point forward.  With 5:37 to play in the opening half, Coe went on another 6-0 run, increasing its lead to 10 points.  Taylor Larson hit a 3-point basket for the Eagles with 2:45 to play in the half, but senior Kayla Lincoln (Maynard, Iowa/West Central) scored six-straight points to end the half, giving Coe a 34-21 lead at the break.
The Kohawks had a 10 point lead with 13:17 to play, but the Eagles made it a game in just over three minutes.  Wisconsin-La Crosse went on a 12-2 run, tying the game at 43 with 10:07 to play.  Coe had regained the lead with 6:32 to play, but a 3-point basket by Taylor Larson cut the lead to one with 6:10 to play.  That basket by Larson would be the final points the 19th-ranked Eagles would score in the game, as Coe scored the final 13 points of the game.
Lincoln led the Kohawks with 18 points.  Junior Kayla Waskow (Dunkerton, Iowa/Dunkerton) added 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots off the bench, while senior Sarah Anciaux (Iowa City, Iowa/City) added 10 points, seven assists and two steals.  Senior Kaitlin Breitbach (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) dropped in three assists and three steals.
