Kilgore Doubles Up Again as #7 Mount Union Wins at Capital

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Brittany Kilgore (Northfield/Nordonia) recorded her second straight double-double, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds, as Mount Union's nationally-ranked women's basketball team defeated Capital, 65-44, on Saturday.

Katie Crider (Brunswick/Brunswick) added 12 points for the Purple Raiders while Amanda Rose (Uniontown/Green) and Kayla Rossman (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls) cashed in nine points apiece.

Kori Wiedt (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) and Rose grabbed nine and seven rebounds, respectively.

Mount Union's largest deficit was four points when it trailed, 13-9. At that point, the Raiders (6-1, 2-1) went on a 12-point run, led by Rose's six. Wiedt ended the run, nailing a three-pointer, to give the visitors a 21-13 advantage.

The outburst was part of a stretch in which the Raiders outscored Capital, 25-4. Mount Union tacked on a 10-0 run -- highlighted by two Crider treys -- to push its lead to 34-17 before taking a 34-19 score into halftime.

The Crusaders (4-2, 1-1) closed their deficit to 11 points in the second half and trailed 45-34 before Mount Union pulled away.

Elizabeth Ladrach was Capital's leading scorer with 10 points.

The Purple Raiders, who are ranked seventh on the D3Hoops.com poll and ninth by ESPN/USA Today, will return to action next Saturday with a 2 p.m. matchup at Wilmington.
