LATROBE, PA (December 11, 2010) . . . The Chatham University women's basketball team traveled to Latrobe, PA today to take on the #16 Bearcats of St. Vincent College in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play. Although Chatham was able to hold St. Vincent to their lowest amount of points scored thus far this season, they were unable to come away with the victory. The Bearcats earned the victory 58-41.
St. Vincent limited Chatham to 27% shooting from the field in tonight's loss and forced 30 total turnovers for the Cougars. The Bearcats led at halftime 33-24.
The home team opened up a 10-4 run in the second half to pull away from the Cougars. Down the stretch, St. Vincent limited Chatham's offense to just 13 field goals while also forcing 22 steals en route to their 17 point victory.
The Cougars were led by redshirt-senior Brittany Brown (Bellefontaine, OH/Bellefontaine), who finished the game with 12 points and eight rebounds. Teammate Kayla Hilko (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) followed closely with 11 points in the loss.
Chatham (4-6, 1-3) does not return to action until the 2nd of January, 2011 as they travel to Pasadena, CA for a non-conference match-up against California Institute of Technology at 4 pm (PST).
