The Oswego State women's basketball team was firing on all cylinders as it had five players reach double figures in a 70-57 win against host Buffalo State Saturday afternoon. The win kept the Lakers undefeated at 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the SUNYAC. The loss dropped the Bengals to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The last time Oswego State started the season 5-0 was in the 2004-05 season when it started the season 11-0.

Kayla Ryan led the Laker scorers with 13 points, while Wanda Sanchez and Meagan Stover added 12 and 11, respectively. Jenna Rossi and Lauren Nunziato provided a huge spark off the bench as they each tallied 10 points. Kristen Diglio cashed in three treys for nine points. Nunziato was perfect from distance, making both her attempts, leading the Lakers to 50 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Oswego State also shot 91 percent from the charity stripe (10-for-11) and 47 percent from the field to offset 23 turnovers.

Oswego State shot out to a 20-point halftime lead at 38-18, capitalizing on 22 points in the paint and 11 second-chance points. Several Laker turnovers allowed the Bengals to close the deficit to nine at 53-44 after two Devine Sebuharara free throws midway through the second half. However, Oswego State's strong shooting from the line helped stave off any possibility of a Buffalo State comeback bid.

Staci McElroy led the Bengals with a double-double, registering 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Barb Kiliszek added 17 points.
